My computer was running REALLY slow for quite a while, then I opened Activity Monitor and found that the "GarageSale Helper" for this application was sucking down over 70% of my CPU power and was automatically added to the login items list so that it was always open without my knowledge. Once I removed it my speed increased greatly.
