I am looking for something which will let me hear audio from backgrounded user accounts.
Before Tiger, all audio came out, regardless of which account it came from. Now it's only the frontmost user who gets access to the audio.
I realise this is a security 'fix' but here at home, where my mac is shared by me and my girlfriend, and no-one else, we'd prefer to keep all our music in one account, and not have to interrupt iTunes just because someone wants to check their mail.
Any ideas?

Audio from backgrounded user accounts? - Brennan Young
Yes I know that, but as I mentioned before, we'd rather not interrupt the music currently playing just because someone wants to check their mail.Right now the best we can do is:
1 Note what song/playlist is playing
2 Quit iTunes
3 Switch user account
4 Launch iTunes
5 Find the appropriate playlist and click 'play'
6 Check mail
7 Repeat steps 1-5
This is NOT a good usability solution, in my opinion.
Even more infurtiating that it used to work just how I like it before Tiger.

If you turn on sharing in iTunes with all the music on it then you can access all that music from any other account. In the other account you need to look for shared music.Enjoy
