problem creating dual-layer DVDs

Feedback Type:  Troubleshooting Report

Contributed by: capologist Saturday, February 17 2007 @ 08:23 AM PST

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

I'm trying to create a dual-layer video DVD. (The contents of the VIDEO_TS folder are too large to fit on a single-layer DVD.) As soon as it starts to create the disk image, it pops up the error message, "There was a problem creating the image," and aborts. Why is this happening? How can I work around it?

Hi capologist,

Can you contact me on support@kiwifruitware.tk.
That way it's easier to solve the problem.

I haven't read this whole thread (maybe this has been mentioned previously), get DVD2oneX. www.dvd2one.com. This will fit the movie on one disk (<4.3gb). I've used it and I don't see any pic. quality issues. If you put on one single layer disk, you'll be able to play your dvd on more players anyway. This program mostly takes out garbage like frech subtitles, audo, ect. still get dolby digital and good video quality. Cost some money but less than toast.

No, don't get DVD2oneX, it doesn't work that well with the newer versions of OS X, plus they have the worst customer support on the net. We use Popcorn 3, made from the folks at Roxio, a REAL software company with good tech support.

Not sure why it posted 3 copies of that. Sorry, unfortunately they don't provide a way to delete here.

Yep I do agree with you on the fact that DVD2Onex customer service stinks. There policy on license codes is that they only keep a record of it for 1 year after that if you forgot it or lost it forget about upgrading unless you buy it again. For the price if I new better I would have spent the cost on Popcorn. Burn works good but it I can't figure out how to burn a dvd that is larger than 7 gigs. DVD 2 one x most of the time works but it takes a long time.
