The original "SoundMaster" program from the very early days of the Mac was an extremely cool feature that even made PC users jealous. Now finally after many years of losing the capability of assigning your favorite sound samples to system events like empty trash, restart, shutdown, disk eject, error dialog etc, the nostalgia is back!
I actually registered Xounds, which tried to do something similar, but more clumsily and with severe system problems due to the APE plug-in..., but Sounds4Fun is superior and more stable.
To easily find select your sounds, drop a folder of your favorite .AIF sound files in the lowest directory on your drive (where you find the System Folder, Library, Applications folder etc.., and it will be easy to find when you choose individual sounds for system events. To avoid monotony, try putting similar sounds in folders inside your favorite sound folder, and you can even select those FOLDERS to randomly play any sound in it for system events.
Thanks for a fantastic program!
