So how can someone dare to compare this with iPhoto?
I saw this and thought: cool, finally something to cope with all my PDFs. Yes it reads words in the PDFs - but so does Spotlight. But here it comes: when you import a PDF - say an eFax - it does not always come in the right orientation and often needs to be rotated clockwise or upside down.
You would think that an App which the developers dare to compare with iPhoto (which made me buy it right away) would be capable of doing this easy execution. Far from it.
The comment I got back was "no, YEP does not do this."
I am furious as I should have donated my cash to something or someone who really deserves it.
Take it for what it is but do NOT compare this tiny App with iPhoto. Thanks a lot and be warned.

I asked them about this on Nov 17th last year.I don't have there reply still but I seem to remember getting the impression that this is something they would attend to.
There has been a flurry of updates since then & still no fix. Its a real problem.

Well they did not say anything like this in their last week's reply. Although I am far from being a programmer or even having the slightest skill in that direction I want to think this isn't gadget based fundamental rocket sience knowledge.Thursday, February 08 2007 @ 02:56 AM PST

I do agree. There is a woirk around for the moment being: open the document in preview - rotate it till it fits - save. Result: the thumbnail keeps the wrong orintation, the loupe give's the right view.Further comment
So far I do not see a big difference between 1.1.3 (free) and 1.2.X. I will wait with buying until they implement more feature (rotation, scanning multiple page docs from the automatic document feeder in one step (presto page manager can do it).
The concept is great - I hope they continue to develop the app. To me there seems quite some potential in this.

I've discovered that changing any of the PDF meta-data will cause the thumbnail to update. Change a tag or something and your thumbnail will change too.Monday, March 12 2007 @ 07:55 PM PDT

Of course Ben. But when you import PDFs in bulk you don't want that and do not have the time to. And moreover you don't need that when you import photos with iPhoto.I think that Versiontracker should not allow them to compare this App with iPhoto because it is completely overpromising.
And that is by the way the only thing I wish would not stand here in that daring App description under its name.

Can't believe this program can't rotate PDFs. This should have been a basic feature from the start.Doesn't recognize any of the 3 scanners I tried it with (HP, Canon, Lexmark).
Excellent concept, but these 2 things need to be addressed before it's worth even half the price.
