macxfixit.com and the Apple support forums have lots of people reporting problems. Even though Airport showed four bars, I couldn't access the internet, nor even my lan for more than a few minutes. Had to sleep and wake the Macbook Pro to regain connectivity. Ended up following the instructions at macfixit.com to restore the IO80211Family.kext file to the pre-update state.

Apple blew it with this one. Avoid it.
