So, let me get this straight - Adobe expects me as an admin of a mixed network of Intel and PPC Macs with a PPC on his desk to;
1) Download a disk image containing an installer,
2) Run this installer to install a downloader (tied to a specific platform version.)
3) Run this downloader to download another disk image,
4) Run this installer to install Reader,
5) Repeat this entire process for the other platform
Have they completely lost their minds?
And naturally, the Intel installer won't install on my PPC Mac, and it's not a standard Apple Installer package, so I can't use Remote Desktop, and instead have to go install it manually on every machine! Unbelievable.
And don't even get me started on the bizarre, windoze-esque interface changes.
If this is the direction Adobe is headed, I can honestly say it will impact our decision making process as we debate Quark vs. InDesign for our graphic designers.
