Transmit enables me to my web site a with ease. I don't know how I would manage without it. The interface even keeps ME organized, which is a no small miracle. The programers may surprise me and come up with a feature that makes it better, but I don't see how.
I suppose it is possible there is an FTP bug that affects a user somewhere, but I have never seen it myself. I would take the report much more seriously if it was not double posted and did not advertise a similar product.

Problem Program - RachelZ3
"I suppose it is possible there is an FTP bug that affects a user somewhere, but I have never seen it myself. When I didn't have a problem with Transmit- since 2002- I would have said the same thing.
BUT there is a very real problem with Transmit in 2007 and there are a lot of reviewers now posting about it. I am also disappointed that the people at Panic - although very nice in trying to help me- didn't admit it at the start.
I changed hosts, and apparently that's how I ended up in the group of people who can't use Transmit. I paid to upgrade to 3.5.6 and the problem was only worse. I am also sorry to say that when the people at Panic finally admitted the problem and that they knew other people in my same situation were using another FTP client with no problem (I REALLY needed to download my site, I would have appreciated the honesty and used a demo version to complete my work), especially after I ended up using another program (Yummy worked, Cyberduck did not) and Panic asked me to send my Yummy transcript and I obliged... Panic never offered to refund my upgrade fee.
Panic said something about changing the passive settings after they reviewed my Yummy transcript- and I see from other reviewers that doesn't work either.
Loyalty is fine but it needs to go both ways. I have been a loyal customer, they need to be loyal to us too.
If your Transmit is working- great.
Its possible the other reviewers messed up posting because they were so frustrated and angry at Transmit. (And I just tried posting this and it hung waiting for VersionTracker.com, so I am submitting it again, so maybe I will have a double post too.)
And the reason to post a competing product out of sympathy. I wish someone had told me about Yummy before I spent weeks trying to back up my site on Transmit, blaming my host, my ISP, my router- everything but the FTP client I trusted for 5 years.
Again, you make good points and I don't mean to be harsh, but in this case, there are good reasons to tell people to use something else.
