This is not feedback about the front end, but rather the core software.
ClamAV does not include on access/on demand scanners, and it cannot clean any virus it finds. It can only quarantine. These two fundamental issues seriously affect the usefulness of ClamAV.

In addition to the ClamXAV Sentry mentioned by another poster, there is also a Contextual Menu Plugin that allows you to scan an item selected in the Finder by crtl-clicking (or right clicking if you have a mulit-button mouse.)There is also a schedule function to autoscan at a specified time or day.

You are right, but it's really not much of a disadvantage. In most cases it is better to delete the infected file and replace it with a new copy. Of course, this can be an inconvenience if you want to remove macros from MS Office documents and use them stripped. Otherwise, it's not a big deal.Reply to This
