Well, after installing the version that is supposed to work around the ACL issue (6.1.131) I've come to the conclusion that Retrospect does NOT work on OS X 10.4.8 SERVER on Intel hardware. Version 6.1.131 works fine (at least in initial testing - it installed, I created scripts, let them run, and then restored files from them) on the CLIENT version of OS X 10.4.8 on Intel hardware. When the SERVER version of OS X 10.4.8 is installed Retrospect dies as soon as it tries to write the backup.
