10.4.8. I am an admin user.2 gigs RAM
The dialog box I get says."You cannot open the application "No Spin" because it is not supported on this architecture.I do have the older version installed but it isn't working reliably on my external drives. They are all (5) using the initio controller. I have changes the time in the .plist file to as low as 20 ans they still spin up and down, but now it's irregular.

Thanks for doing this, the spindown thing is really annoying.

Try re-downlaoding the trial. Are you on Intel? I have updated the app.

re-downloaded app states version 1.4, same result as before. This is a G5, not Intel.

This works on my iMac G5 (PPC) at home as well as my iMac G5 (Intel) at work.

Maybe you do not have the root user enabled. I will fix app if this is problem. Also, you cannot launch from the disk image. It must be copied to your hard drive. The interval and volume list is stored inside the app, so it must be writable.

Re-download anyways. I have changed it as of 3:30 P.M. on 1/17/2007.

If it has never successfully launched your trial period is still intact at 15 launches.

Won’t work on my iMac G5 either. I tried the older version, from last week or so, which I had not tried before. That one had an icon that looked like the “do not” sign, a slanted line in a circle. When I clicked it it said it would not work on that system. This 2.0 version’s DMG has a single icon that looks like a globe. Clicking it gives an AppleScript error.

You cannot launch it from the disk image. There are files contained in the app itself that are written to. Cannot write inside the disk image.
