Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 6-12 months

Recommend Product: YES

Although a developer, I don't know much about the Torrent technology. Being a Mac user, I don't read docs either :) . I have found the other clients (BitTorrent, Tomato, and a few others) not to be worth the review time.
Azureus is by far the best. It has always worked very well for me, and the total setup time every time I need it (intense use once every two months) is always below 1 minute, and consists of clicking and reading the inexplicable whining about its complexity while I download. In fact, all I know about the torrent technology I learned while watching the very fancy graphics depicting the swarms, the transfers, and all that jazz.

Best torrent client I came across - mikexryan

If you're a developer then you should know better. Transmission is the preferred and the best p2p Torrent application for Mac Users. Azureus looks nice, is laden with features but it is slow and a system resource hog.

Example: I can select ten torrents to download via Azureus. I have a 9Mps connection through Covat. I should see easily 200 to 600kbs through Azureus. I get - at most - 60kbs.

OTOH, if I use Transmission I see 300-600kbs. Why would I want to spend days downloading files when Transmission does it in just hours.

Resource hogging: With Azureus no matter what browser I use, from Firefox to Safari web pages crawl to view. With Transmission running all web pages snap to attention.

I can only assume you are being paid to make these Azureus claims or your are a plant posting facetious claims about Azureus. If you are a developer - dear God, I DO NOT want any product or application you offer because your judgment is definitely skewed.
