Are there any security concerns about this product? Does it run on and utilize the Mac partition? If so, that scares me out of my socks. I don't want any Windows programs (especially Internet Explorer) touching my Mac partition. I prefer a separate Windows partition where the bugs can roam freely without hosing my Mac. Thoughts?

My gosh, in the many months this has been in beta and alpha and RC, do you think you're the first to have this question? It's been gone over ad nauseum in the forums on the CodeWeavers' site and in the FAQs... much more thoroughly than you're likely to be able to get from the comments here.See developers's site...

It's unbelievably hard to describe CrossOver/WINE to others without them seeing for themselves. But suffice to say that it is much more secure than Windows, for the simple fact that it doesn't run every Windows app; only a specific list. Many other apps don't even launch.CrossOver contains the files that it uses into a specific CrossOver folder in your Library, and unless there is a security hole in CrossOver itself, I can't see any way that any Windows apps could cause damage - at least, no worse than any other Mac OS X application. It doesn't have free reign over your drive.
