I finally found the developer's e-mail address (in VersionTracker) and sent him a mail explaining the behaviour of Geometer in my iMac.
I have received a reply today. And now the problem is solved. Geometer is working!
There are, however, a few features that are not active yet. It is not possible yet to copy & paste the polygones to any document.
