Too complex.

Feedback Type:  Review

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: NO

I do not use it anymore, I found it much too confusing and it took forever to figure out how to do basic stuff. I put this program in the same class as photoshop, it could do a lot, the problem is figuring out how to do it.

btw, it had a tendency to take over graphics files. Icons on various files I never used with Graphic Converter would end up with GC icons.

Too complex. - skyo63

How do you know - let alone the ability to rate it - if you don't use it? Just curious. Very curious.

The application is bad because you are confused? You could always use paper and crayons if you can learn to use them.

Wow! - MAC_1984

You comment on it because you find it complex to use? Hell, I guess I need to give advanced physics a crappy rating because it too is complex? Where are all these types of Mac users coming from these days? Are they newbies'.

Too complex? No. - Roger Gauthier

All things considered, GraphicConverter is easy to use. As easy as it was at the beginning? Certainly not! But then, how could it be otherwise? This application "seems" more complex for the simple reason that it covers a lot more ground than it did.

I just downloaded the latest version and played with it for half an hour. By Jove, this is one cute application that should repeat should be on the hard drive of every designer or photographer, among others.

GC is a terrific program. It pains me to see a comment like this. I've gotten upgrade after upgrade at no additional cost. I wish all software were this good and such a screaming bargain.

The icon changes reflect that Graphic Converter is the default application for opening certain types of files. You can easily change that using the Get Info window: chose a file of the type you'd like to change, press command-I (Get Info), click on the Open With triangle, if it is not open, and choose the application you want to use as default in the popup menu. Below that is "Use this application to open all documents like this." Click on the Change All button and you're done.
