Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: YES

I have been using MTR for over 12 months ( NO PROBLEMS ) on a G4 version 10.4.8 All of a sudden when I go to rip I get a message stating WRITE ERROR - THERE IS NOT ENOUGH FREE SPACE ON MOVIES - SELECT A VOLUME WITH ENOUGH SPACE. I have tried everything - emptied the movie folder, virus check , reinstalled MTR I also tried to chose another folder in with to put the movie but all I get the same message - NOT ENOUGH FREE SPACE.Therefore I cannot rip any more movies - as I have no where to store the movie . Very strange as I usually only keep 3 -4 movies on my computer at any one time .
I would be grateful for advice on how to solve this
THANKS1
System Info:G4 POWER BOOD

Yoy need doul layer dvd with a capacity of 8 gigs not 4. The new dvd have higher capicities you either have to get dual layers or split the movie into 2 dics.

I had a similar problem with another program. It was corrected when I emptied the trash!

try doing a fsck in single user mode, zap the PRAM and then repair permissions. make sure you have at leat twice the space on your hard drive as is necessary to hold all the video files from the disk.

if you dont know how to do any of this, just search for instructions. it's pretty simple.

Have you tried downloading Kill The Ripper? As you may or may not know MTR keeps a record of all of the DVDs you've ripped since you started using it. From your message it sounded like the problem arises when you're trying to rip, not burn a DVD. Perhaps MTR has a built-in stopper if you've ripped too many movies. Using Kill The Ripper deletes all of those files quickly and easily. I dunno... worth a try regardless.
