I tried the new "reader" version 8.0 because I was told it opened web pages faster. Well it does, but the price paid for that is software that "calls home" for updates automatically and drains system resources. I thought my firewall was blocking the update but I turned the firewall off and still Adobeupdater hangs at 98% in the system processes of task manager. I would steer clear from this garbage.
