I was kind of dissappointed that version 0.8.6 doesn't seem to address the error issue when trying to use the equalizer. Basically it just doesn't work!

Otherwise I like the way VLC media player sounds with streaming audio. The dynamic range is far better than iTunes even without the equalizer functioning.

What's wrong with the equalizer? - brucez

In a period of six minutes,,, bforsberg_dotmac wrote in four times to state that the equalizer does not work. Could it be that bforsberg did not click on the "enable" box on the equalizer. My equalizer is fully functional and the application works flawlessly.

No this feature does not work at all. Does not work if it is enabled in setup or if it is enable in the extended gui. VLC is otherwise very impressive and yet it has a very small footprint. We really like it except for the lack of equalizers. The equalizer for video does not work either. Anybody reading these posts have any real information on this?
