This program disappoints me for a couple of different very annoying reasons.

The first is that it doesn't support the codec that most Ventrilo servers use. So it's worthless unless you find someone willing to switch to Speex codec.

Once you are on a server that works, the second problem is that the program CONSTANTLY loses the settings. Every other time I launch it, I have to redo the preferences from "default" to select my USB headset.

Bottom line is to use Teamspeex until the Ventrilo people fix these glaring issues.
