I launched MS Messenger today to see if I could change my password, but it wouldn't let me (big surprise). It sent me to some url that wouldn't load. Anyway, the program alerted me that an update was available, so I went ahead and downloaded it thinking "hey, maybe it will let me change my password now." When the download was finished, there was a .bin file sitting on my desktop. So I mounted it, and what was inside?? An .aiff SONG called "1 Will and Testement" of all things. Um, this didn't look to me like a new version of MSN. Suffice to say I did NOT play the track and quickly unmounted the disk image, and trashed the .bin file. I am leaving MSN altogether (yes, even in Adium). There are other, safer, alternatives to corrupt & compromised.
