...that can be quite useful in an educational setting. Very attentive customer support, although no upgrade path was offered after version 4.5 except repurchasing the program at full price. This seemed both arbitrary and a bit offputting to me, an early adopter, especially since the program has not gone through a leap in features that would justify paying for it twice.

First of all, the upgrade was free for anyone who had purchased version 2.3 or later (any purchase after 2/16/03). The product has gone through huge improvements since the 2.3 days, all of which were free. Secondly we did provide a half price upgrade path in June 06 when the older licenses first became invalid. Although the upgrade offer expired at the end of August 06, we have worked with all early adopters who've expressed concern on a better price (including rmcm4).
