CD Finder goes way beyond it's name in that it can catalog more than just CD's. I've used it because it can see into Stuffit and Zip files to find what I'm looking for. But it has also proved to be a speedier tool for finding files on the host computer as well. For me, with 1000's of photos, I can find all that I have both cataloged and what's on the machine in a couple of seconds in one list. Spotlight cannot do that, and as such, I use this product more for finding images for my workflow. If you have to sort through big finds to find what you're looking for, give this a try. It's works well, stable and the price is good.
