Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: YES

I can see they put a lot of effort into this release, but two paid upgrades in 9 months seems excessive. Having paid to go from 4.0 to 5.0 I'd think they'd at least give me a better upgrade than those who didn't upgrade earlier this year. . . version 2, 3, or 4 owners all pay the same upgrade price. Guess I'll wait for version 7 next November.

Two Paid Upgrades This Year? - Parliant Corporation

Don, with respect, we haven't charged for an upgrade since June 2005. You may not remember, but we gave 4 away to owners of version 3. This was done as a gesture of respect because we thought it was too soon to impose on our users.

We hope that you'll consider version 5 (it has some great features) but if you'd like to wait, we understand. Version 4 was a great release as well, and we'll certainly support you if you need help with it.

No one likes to have to upgrade software, but we do need our customers' support to continue to produce great new releases like 5.0.

Feel free to give us a call if you'd like to chat further. 1-866-864-2334.

I stand corrected. I paid $206 in May of 2005 and then $30 in August of the same year (version 3). I did indeed receive version 4 for free. As I said in my rant? (not really meaning it as a rant), I can see you put a lot of work into the upgrade. I appreciate your taking the time to reply to me.

it looks like these people are more responsive to answer here where the public is than when you email their tech support who never answered so far on 3 questions!
