permissions. Otherwise it was DOA. And, once I had it up and running I had to fix permissions...again!

Well, your particular software setup (MacOS, apps, 3rd-party add-ons) was successful after doing the stupid "fix permissions" thing. That's good for you.

But unfortunately, there are way too many variables out there in the software world and this fix does NOT work for all of us... me, for example. The adage of "Your mileage may vary" definitely applies here. Too bad Adobe has yet to acknowledge that this particular release is causing a LOT of trouble for a lot of users.
