I have used SilverFast on several scanners, and it's predecessor from Linocolor. It has always been a tool that provides time-use efficiency and quality images.

NikonScan always produced streaks in my scans unless I used Super Fine Scan. That got slow doing that with every image! I was led by Nikon to believe this was a hardware issue. However, I have no streaking whatsoever with Silverfast, leading me to believe they don't have a clue.

I highly recommend SilverFast!
