Have been using for over a year now, on mac, recently switched back to pc. VLC is even better :) imho dvd playback is much smoother on decent intel with decent video adapter than on ppc (g5), but that's only my opinion.

Anyways, it plays everything, from gp to dvd playback. Interface is not intrusive - it is easy to use, but if you want you can apply filter, crop, change display ratio, etc... so it is powerfull player but not bloatware.
