Here are the strengths of StuffIt:
- It expands pretty much any expandable format
- It pops in an out of existence as needed; you don't need to keep it running
- It couldn't possibly be easier to use; you just double click on the item you want to expand, StuffIt starts, you get a window with a progress bar, and StuffIt quits when it's done.
- It's fast
- It's pretty
- It's always been there; forever -- even back before System 6. People were using this program during the Reagan Administration. Running a Mac without using Stuffit Expander is, to my mind, inconceivable.
Here are the weaknesses of Stuffit:
- None.
It's free, and it does everything.
To the person who's trying to use a corrupt archive from MS: Microsoft doesn't even support that application any more. You need to be using Flip4Mac. Live in the now, man.

StuffIt Expander: Always on top - Ataritox
As you said "It pops in an out of existence as needed; you don't need to keep it running"You could not be more correct, This app. does its job without me even knowing it's there. I have had nothing but positive results with it. And it is Free.
