Why would you want to convert jpegs to tifs? Converting them to tif files doesn't improve them in any way. The only time I ever bother changing file format is if I need to make modifications such as color correction or image size to the files.Friday, October 27 2006 @ 06:33 PM PDT

TIFF files are for print, and JPEG are for screen. the JPEG standard doesn't support CMYK, and doesn't support DPI. although Photoshop will let you make CMYK JPEGs, the compression algorithm is based on a RGB colourspace and artifacts are much more visible in CMYK.Monday, November 13 2006 @ 02:19 PM PST

But if the image is already a cmyk JPEG, you cannot gain quality or information by converting it to a tiff. Why would you do this?Monday, January 15 2007 @ 08:45 AM PST

I only wish InDesign's built-in Preflight function did as much as this excellent plug-in. Until then, I highly recommend this welcome solution.Wednesday, November 22 2006 @ 10:00 AM PST

I only wish InDesign's built-in Preflight function did as much as this thorough and reasonably priced product. Until then, I highly recommend InPreflight as a welcome solution.Wednesday, November 22 2006 @ 10:02 AM PST

IN some ways yes it is. But I actually like this app, it gives a few more details (like resolutions) about your files. I only wish there something that convert automatically jpegs (from within Indesign) to tiffs.Reply to This
