i have found out that your latest software release eye tv version 2.3.2 declares it supports the optic output of the macintosh g5 ( software version 10.4.7 ) . When i start up eye tv , the audio signal is correctly routed to the optical output . i have connect a d/a converter type apogee mini dac with . the apogee led indicates a 44.1 clock .
when i start up the recording , the audio signal gets lost and the apogee leds indicate a 48 khz clock ; only noise is detect on the audio output .
such a problem is experienced both on the power mac g5 dual 1.8 and the powerbook g4 1,67 . i have two tuners : one is miglia tv max and the other is a eye tv ibrid .whith the eye tv ibrid the problem occurs also when you switch from the analogical tv channels to digital channels , bye !!!!!

OPTICAL NO WORKS - urbangillstrom

Hi,

I have a similar problem. When upgrading to 2.3.2 I lost the audio completely. I am running a Mac Mini, Elgato Firewire 410 and M-Audio Firewire 410 connected optically to my Krell Showcase system.

I also have another problem with all EyeTV versions: When switching on EyeTV there is a terrible loud white noice until the live TV window comes up. Hav you seen anything similar?

As soon as I ran the 2.3.2 upgrade I lost digital sound as well. I get either some short blasts of white noise, fllowed by nothing, or just white noise. The Midi config shows 'no output device', and all sound output is muted (and greyed out so it can't be changed). As soon as I unplug the EyeTV Hybrid everything comes back and works as normal.

MAC Mini, EyeTV Hybrid, Yamaha YSP 800 (and Creative Labs mini speakers for testing analog)
