i have a few clients looking for an alternative to extensis (suitcase, font reserve and fusion). i took a look at linotype fontexplorer and fontagent pro. i was very suprised to see that fontagent is NOT universal binary.

Are you saying the universal binary doesn't work? This if from the Insider Pro website:
