I work at an apple authorized service provider and this program causes more problems than you started off with. Don't f*** with the SMC. Leave that to apple.
I've seen far too many people get screwed over by this.

Considering it was released on the 13th, and this review was made on the 20th, I highly doubt that.Sunday, October 22 2006 @ 05:39 PM PDT

This sounds like nonsense. What kinds of problems have you seen in software that has only been out for a few weeks? If you set your fan minimum to something reasonable like 3000 rpm then the whole machine runs a lot cooler, which can only help reliability. I think basically you are full of it.Monday, October 23 2006 @ 04:11 AM PDT

More folks fixing the issue on their own with a nice free tool and less folks seeking out Apple service providers to fix their heat problems. I think that's the problem the original poster was referring to.Tuesday, October 31 2006 @ 05:54 PM PST

Huh,My Macbook Pro shut down 6 times in the past three days due to overheating. There is a class action pending on all new Macbook Pros of which 19% have a overheating flaw involving the hear sync. (do a google search)
I have had no shut downs and my machine runs 25 degrees cooler with this software.
You make no mention of anything in your post that details any problems.
I see no problems. If you do what are they?
