Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

I don't think I'll finish the trial period and for sure - I don't buy slow software. My library is over 9000 songs, since I installed it 2 days before it was looking up and still there are 6654 songs to analyze. Starting this morning at 7 a.m. it was able to analyze 64 (!) songs in 8 hours. Estimated time for the rest is 94 hours. Bad maths, I think. If it goes on at this speed, it will be 833 hours (= nearly 35 days full processor load) - absolutely unacceptable. I don't block my Mac to generate data for other peoples benefit.
Too, I already have the album covers put in into my songs - but this program doesn't show them.

Poor Performance - Ataritox

It only took me about a day and a half to do 4,000 songs. And it was well worth it to be able to generate great mix's.

I am using ver 1.7b3 now and it seems to work fine. Album art shows up and all. Also the developers are quick to respond to any problems I had so you may want to try emailing them about your issue.

Also, The two annoying bugs I found in ver 1.6 and emailed them about were fixed in the next version (1.7). This to me shows they listen and better yet fix bugs you let them know about.

Try support before you give up on it. Once the analysis is done it is a very enjoyable app. I can understand your frustration with your analysis taking so long though.

I think it depends what kind are these 4000 songs you have. The software is in the 1st step looking "are there already analysis' to find at the net?" and then it try to do itself.
I do have a lot of latin and world songs. But to have a 7 minute analysis for a 3 min song I maybe listen once or twice seems to be a big waste of energy.
Too, the recommended songs (to the one just analyzed) I never found satisfying. Maybe I try your tip - but one of the questions I'm asking myself is really: Shall I provide musicIP's database with information and analysis's to tango-music which makes the big part of my collection?

Poor Performance - dominic5

some hours later from my last comment....
I downloaded Version 1.7, the analysis needs between 67% and 80% of the original song length. Some covers are shown, some others stay black although iTunes 7 shows them. The forecast for the rest of the 6500 songs is only about 67 hours - quite ridiculous.
I tried to generate a playlist of 3 genres, but this was mixed with some other genres as well. For me useless and not convincing, but interesting anyway. I mean, Version 1.x still marks the beginning and the bigger the database gets the easier some songs will become found. Maybe I have a glance again to this website some later days but for me it's to early.
Too, I think some bonus could be nice in the beginning: free software for everybody who's analyzing more than 3000 pieces...
