I had the same problem on my Macbook pro but I was using iStat nano. I'm sure its the same problem on miniStat2.
If you wanna get your temperature working, download CoreDuoTemp.
This widget has the Increw kernel built-in and it will install the increw kernel properly. Since I don't like the interface of this coreduo widget, I just installed another widget - iStat Nano. Now iStat nano use the kernel off of CoreDuoTemp and display the proper temperature.
