I had the same problem on my Macbook pro but I was using iStat nano. I'm sure its the same problem on miniStat2. If you wanna get your temperature working, download CoreDuoTemp. This widget has the Increw kernel built-in and it will install the increw kernel properly. Since I don't like the interface of this coreduo widget, I just installed another widget - iStat Nano. Now iStat nano use the kernel off of CoreDuoTemp and display the proper temperature. Hope this helps.

miniStat2 can show both temperature and fan speed for any modern Intel-Mac. It doesn't require any additional software to do so, just install and it works.
