RE: Sorry, Mac - Version: 3.1.8, 10/8/2006 09:26AM PST jm10r It appears this is another non-Mac application. Sorry Mac users. You're not invited. Or wanted, apparently. I'll take my money elsewhere.
WRONG ... I assume that jm10r's gripe is based on his apparent desire to slam companies that aren't providing 'sit' downloads. Looking at his 10 most recent posts, only one is positive, and the rest seem to follow that 'sit' theme.
CORRECT ... So, allow me to correct the unfair comment by jm10r: Pocket Tunes is very Mac-friendly
In my home, I have five Macs and one Sony Vaio. I use the Sony primarily for scanning and testing. As a Mac user since 1984, the Macs perform all my other computing chores, especially those which are very processor-intensive.
I have architected hybrid networks for large corporations and ad agencies, so, relatively speaking, I'm one of the few who is quite at home on either platform. But when it comes down to preference, the Mac wins in every conceivable category. Nothing beats a Mac.
My experience seems to show that those who only work on one platform are the loudest critics of the other platform. My experience has also shown that any PC user required to use a Mac a work, will usually cry and moan until they get their feet wet ... then they never look back.
DOWNLOAD TO MAC ... So, here is the one instruction for those wanting to download pTunes to a Mac (or PC users who prefer a zip file) ... just use this link:
http://www.pocket-tunes.com/?page=download
If jm10r had only focussed over to the left navigation bar on the page he arrived at, he would have seen another download link. And no, I am not affiliated with any software or hardware company. I just wonder how many Mac-users would read his comment and move on, simply because it is stated with such authority.
I have a Palm TX that came with Pocket Tunes preinstalled. I have downloaded every update since then (to a Mac), and using Missing Sync, uploaded it to my TX. And Missing Sync also allows pTunes to sync with iTunes.
So frankly, it's a solid Palm app ... I really can't think of anything it's weak in. It's not an iPod, but then an iPod isn't a Palm, either.
DON'T FORGET THE SKINS ... Make sure to check out all the available skins for pTunes. Many good ones are free. You can start your skin search by checking out ...

My favorite skin is the WinAmp ...
