I have been using VBX4 ever since I got my very first computer, a PB G4 earlier this year. I payed almost a $90 for the Internet Security Barrier X4 Antispam Edtition which includes VBX4 as part of the package. Since then I've been getting a few updates on virus definitions and once I asked Intego support what definitions I've been updating and received no reply to my inquiry. To date VBX4 hasn't detected anything in all the scans it has performed since the day I installed it. I've been getting emails and chain mails from friends that use PC's that contains attachments, I for one heard that this is a very good way to transmit virii between PC's. I've even opened some links that PC user's say that they've got infected with malware from opening the link. Every time I view the scan logs after VBX$ performs a scan and find that it didn't detect anything, I've been wondering why I spent good money for a product that I don't need. Whenever it performs a scan, the bottom of my PB starts getting a little hot and the fans kick in. When I open Activity Monitor I find that VBX4 is using up to 60-80 % of the CPU. When I first installed it, I scheduled scans for a few items. Since then it has been scanning and detecting nothing and I would like to quit all but one schedule items to quit scanning, but I can not find a way to delete the ones I don't want, when I Delete them they just show up the next time I check to see if they really are deleted. I am going to use this product until it asks me to pay for virus definitions when my 1 year is up and uninstall it. That's enough ranting about this product from me.
