You have to toggle it off and back on in the application, then it affects movies from Quicktime player, web videos, .MP3 files played in the Finder Get Info... windows' preview. Even under these cases, the sound is worse sounding. Hope the final version is better. I uninstalled it. Too bad, I liked it under iTunes 6.0.5
