If it were $12.99, this might make sense. At $129 you should probably skip it and just use a single program like Final Cut for all your monitoring, capturing and editing needs.

I could sort of monitor in FCP but this program is way better with all the zebras and guides. There are no guides in the log & capture window as far as I know. I leave FCP for capturing and editing.Tuesday, October 03 2006 @ 10:33 PM PDT

Final Cut Pro's capture window does allow for live video scopes. This is far more helpful than zebras. I would buy this product if it had video scopes.Tuesday, October 03 2006 @ 11:16 PM PDT

Final Cut Pro does not show live video during capture. The cost is very reasonable when you consider that a dedicated field monitor will cost about $4000 and still won't provide all the functionality of DV Monitor. On top of that a dedicated field monitor requires power and that can be a huge issue when shooting on location.

You don't understand what this application does. It transforms your Mac (laptop, preferably) into a field monitor. Final Cut has no such ability. $129 is very cheap compared to $2,000 or more for a real field monitor.I hope the programmer can support HDV soon.
