I've been using VueScan since I first learned of it, and support has been consistently outstanding.
Most recently, I reported on Thursday afternoon that VueScan didn't work properly with my new, very cheap HP OfficeJet 4315, and by Sunday, Ed Hamrick had not just fixed it---it's astoundingly faster than HP's driver! At low DPI, VueScan scans so fast that at first I thought it was still not working, and just ejecting the paper!
