this update went smoothly, after the double restart the system booted just fine. the only issue i have is my 3rd party USB card is still non-functional, has been ever since 10.4.5. reverting to IOUSBFamily.kext from 10.4.4 restores functionality, but then i loose all of the USB improvements made since may.

System Info:PowerMac G4 MDD, 2x 1GHz, 1.5GB RAM
