Turn your cable modem off (and router if you have one) for at least a minute. Turn it back on and see if that works. I have comcast too and any time it hangs (stops working), turning the modem on and off fixes it instantly. I think it has to do with that new powerboost software they use on their servers. Also make sure you have Ethernet set to Configure automatically in the network preferences pane (under the Ethernet tab). DHCP should be set to 'Using DHCP' under the TCP/IP tab, as any other choice will choke with comcast. All other fields in that pane should be blank and IPv6 can be set to automatically. Hope that helps and good luck.Friday, September 29 2006 @ 05:56 PM PDT

This update has disabled my Comcast Cable Connection. Not Happy! This happened to both my intel and G4 laptops after installing the update. I can connect fine at work, so it seems only to affect my Comcast account at home. Do I have to wait all weekend to get this fixed. What ever happened to Apple not releasing updates on a Friday?Reply to This
