VT Pro 4.2.1 is still quitting on launch. There is an issue with the "downloadFolder" item in the file "VersionTracker Pro Preferences" in the folder "~/Library/Preferences".

I noted in the "About" window that VT Pro uses some third party software for the preferences, that has not been updated since 2003, as it turned out. This is quite upsetting.
