There's no shortcut for the equalizer. There's no button for either the visualizer or the equalizer. The colors and icons are chintzy and you have no choice.
Oh yeah sure, it's great for projection during a party when everyone wants to dance in front of the apple icon with an overlay of the track information and the album art taking up the other half of the screen. "Duh, real cool, man!" (NOT!) And why would I want that on my screen when all I want to see is the visualizer, especially for a party?
I guess there are advantages with the 7th level,
But not for me

Pressing a button on screen to pull up the EQ is the same as selecting it from the menu bar. Big deal. How often do you change it anyway? You can set songs for their own EQ you know...Wednesday, September 27 2006 @ 10:25 AM PDT

Also, if you're looking to do serious projection for parties than get g-force. apple is built on the basic engine behind g-force -- but like everything free, you have to pay to go pro. that doesn't diminish the value of itunes one bit.Wednesday, September 27 2006 @ 11:37 AM PDT

Shortcut for the visualizer = Apple-T (Turn ON Visualizer, under VIEW menu)
Preferences settings for visualizer to include 'full screen yes/no', 'display track information yes/no', etc... all under the VIEW menu.
Might help to actually open your eyes, instead of shooting your mouth off..
