I think this app is pointless. If you have mail launched but hidden you still get a mail count in the icon of mail on the dock so whats the point of the menubar item which shows the same thing. Its a waste of menubar space

it IS great...i have started hiding my dock, so i can use my 12" powerbook fullscreen
(photoshop, logic, etc)
having a menubar readout is totally useful..!

The other advantage is that it can count the unread email that you have in all of your mailboxes, not just your Inbox. So, if you use rules to filter incoming messages, or you just like to organize your Mail messages in other mailboxes, but leave them left as unread, Mail Unread Menu will find those messages and display them, but the Mail icon will not.Logan Rockmore

because if you have the dock hidden you do not have to keep bringing it upto check for mail you can just look at the menubar
