Has anyone experienced choppy recorded video when using Motion Detection?
I'm using SecuritySpy 1.3, with Arecont AV-2100 2.1 megapixel cameras. Do to the large (1600x1200) file sizes, we have to use motion detection - which is setup to begin recording 5sec. before & end 15sec after motion stops.
We're using this in a high-traffic area, the lobby of our hotel, and even when there is enough movement to keep the MD activated (i.e.; keep it on, not on.. off.. on... off...), the resulting video is very choppy, as if the video keeps starting and stopping recording.
Anyone else experienced this?

The most likely cause of this problem is that there is some kind of bandwidth problem on your network. Do you have a large number of cameras, or a lot of other traffic on the same network? If this isn't the issue, then it might be that your Mac is struggling to keep up with the workload placed on it. How many cameras do you have connected, and what Mac are you using? If this is a performance issue, it might help to turn off or reduce the length of your pre-capture, as this feature requires SecuritySpy to maintain a buffer of video from each camera.
