Why would anyone buy this when Disk Alias can do the same thing for free?
Disk alias simply creates aliases of every file on a disk/in a folder in the proper hierarchy and then stores the alias directory tree wherever you want it. I have a folder at the top level of my Documents drive called 'Disc Aliases' which holds all my disc aliases.
If I'm looking for a file that I can't find, I just search for it with Spotlight and if it only finds an alias, not only do I know it's not on my system at the time, but it also shows me which disc it's on.

...will do in 5 hours what Media Indexer can do in 5 minutes. For hard disks, I guess MI is preferable.Friday, June 29 2007 @ 12:31 PM PDT

I used to use Disk Alias and loved it but will it work with Mac intel? I've found that even though non Universal software will run on my intel Mac, it's not worth it when Universal apps are so much faster and smoother.Reply to This
