Why doesn't SS automatically delete obvious spam?

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

The idea in SS is good. But unless I am using it incorrectly using SS is actually more work than not using it.

With SS obvious spam goes into a SPAM folder. At some point I have to go into this SPAM folder and move all the spam to the DELETE folder. Then I have to manually delete the messages in the DELETE folder.

Sure wish SS would automatically delete obvious spam without me ever seeing it. Or wish I could delete spam from the SPAM folder without having to go the DELETE folder.( I use OS 10.4 and Entourage.)

Anyone have any recommendations?

Have you considered creating a schedule in Entourage to automatically delete messages from the Junk E-mail folder after a certain number of days? Also, you can configure SpamSieve to put all the spam in the Deleted Items folder rather than the Junk E-mail folder, or to put the obvious spam in the Deleted Items and the other spam in Junk E-mail.

Have a read of page 39 in the manual (available from ss help menu). It gives instructions on using the Junk mailbox instead of the spam mailbox, which may solve the problem you're having.
