netnewswire lite is probably the best reader i've used on the mac, both in appearance and functionality; and i've tested most of those listed here on versiontracker.

however, for the past 2 months, the software has not worked at all, and by that i mean it does not refresh feeds that have been subscribed. it's not an isolated event either, as the developer's own forums list threads (albeit for the full, paid version) about this and similar issues, yet after 2 months and even a point-point update release (2.1 > 2.1.1), none of my feeds refresh.

perhaps you will be lucky enough to have it work, and if you do, you will love this reader. in the meantime, i'll have to rely on other software, and hope that they fix the outstanding problems in the next release. working or not; in the end it's free, and you can't beat that!
