I have updated several times. - brucecpietsch_dotmac

Amazing since ALL that version tracker does for me so far as I can see is tell me about SW that i have downloaded that i rarely if ever use needs updating- sure I can skip it but I am anal and if my wife uses a game I WANT THE LATEST VERSION LEST IT DELETE MY OPERATING SYSTEM SW! ANyway so this is one that I can Not fix no matter what i do- I deleted double copies - one in Utilities dir under applications and the one in Adobe CS2 dir under apps is also up to date and sez v 4.03 but VT insists I HAVE VERSION 4.0---HUH?? Anyway this is a constant hassle with VT and I am not impressed with VT so far as it behaves like SW that should be free- heck the crud I had on my PC from IT guys was FAR Superior to this at keeping my stupid Gatesware up to date--VT needs a serious GUI updated and needs to add a lot more smarts- it looks like the first version of clearcase- where most people stuck to the cli format- I being insane insisted that if it had a GUI I Would use it as I do with VT- but guys- come on for 50 bucks I expected it to diagnose probs I may have inside my OSX SW libraries- find me the PPD drivers for my damn PSC 2110 that according to MAC HAS NO MODERN Print driver written by HP yet VT recommends the all in one 9100 highly so I guess HP only writes new SW for its new Printers- lucky me- I know its only Version control- but I expected more elegance..I have to take it down and up or click click click to get it to even update the CURRENT field all the time- I know I am a novus but still...If I can mess it up than anyone can...I am changing to weekly update- then monthly and then probably will realize I do not need VT for SW that is mainly freeware and that is just for people with extra time on hands and MAC extension dev community--I have found maybe 3 SW items that maybe will make it worth the 50 bucks so far- as for dotMac- ba humbug--they can not even fix Quicktime to work with iWeb-come on Apple-you cannot kill MSFT with buggy releases that a SW engineer can barely keep running much less the average user...
