I run an abuse desk and Sp@mX is a scourge. It's completely foiled by random Received: forgeries and sends abuse complaints to multitudes of wrong address. Do not use this product. We don't even bother to investigate if this product is used to report spam because it is so badly wrong. Avoid at all costs. Use something more reputable and reliable. We recommend SpamCop but what you use is up to you, just know that with this software you're making the problem worse.

There is no mention of software title and as a user of software I wondered if it is same software we speak about.You should remove/move your comment. This is one of the software which works.

No, I don't think so . . . this 'curse' is largely the result of indolent and irresponsible ISPs, who are the only link in the chain able effectively to stop the abuse. If they would pay more attention to the activities of their customers, instead of simply 'taking the money and running,' the problem could be reduced substantially or eliminated relatively quickly, to the ultimate benefit and profit of all. Apps like Sp@mX currently form the only viable resort of victims and until ISPs assume that responsibility, their irritated complaints are likely to fall upon deaf ears.Tuesday, October 17 2006 @ 02:35 PM PDT

While I understand your concerns, since I posted the feedback on version tracker the amount of spam has increased drastically. (My Spam count was 7000 spam emails in the 18 months up to June 2006, since then it has increased to 13,000 in October 2006).However i do receive a small amount of emails in response to SpamX reports, so at least a few Zombies are being taken down.

in the year I've used Sp@mX my inflow of spam has slowed from 50 - 60 per day to 3 - 5 per week. What you say may be perfectly true, but so is my experience.Wednesday, November 08 2006 @ 10:38 AM PST
