SMART NOT!

Feedback Type:  Troubleshooting Report

Contributed by: paulc Wednesday, August 23 2006 @ 12:00 PM PDT

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

When I first installed 172, I did a mini freak out at the disk warning... so I checked with other utilities, everything was fine. Just got 173 and I see it still claiming there was an error condition with my drive (actually, it's an internal RAID 0 array). Again, I checked with other utilities and all is just fine. Ran Onyx again, it's still claiming SMART errors. Seems something from 172 to 173 wasn't really corrected...

SMART NOT! - Titanium06

Hi,

The SMART Status works only (for the moment) with ATA and Serial ATA disks...

Not the issue, the drives it's reporting on are on the internal SATA controllers.

1.7.4 does not seem to address the issue.

I also have 2 externals arrays via a SATA PCI card and there's no telling what Onyx is reporting on... plus there doesn't seem to be a way to initiate a check, only turning the check on at startup.
